A main advantage of the Massive Mobile Barrier (MMB) for crash testing is that it does not require a dedicated test facility – any flat area with controlled access will be adequate.
The MMB can be driven into a stationary vehicle, or a vehicle can be driven into a stationary MMB.
The MMB is especially suited for:
- Rear crashes
- Crashes requiring high-speed video of interior or specific components, where the camera must not be exposed to collision shock
